When planning my posts I totally forgot it was Valentine’s Day!! How could I when I’ve been planning my kids’ mini Christmas for weeks (or as my friend calls it- “Love Bucket Day”)?  Here’s a sneak peek at our day (complete with some romantic errand running for mommy and daddy- by which I mean we went to Target and quite a few threats of: “if you don’t stop it I’m cancelling Valentine’s Day”). I don’t think I need to tell you that my children have been slightly excited about the day. I bought the kids Valentine’s outfits but of course half of them picked something different. And, I didn’t even think of getting something for myself so I just dug around my closet and picked something pink- it may or may not be my favorite color even though it kind of washes me out. Eh, sometimes you wear what you love and are okay with it not being your perfect shade.

I absolutely love this romantic oversized sweater paired with comfy leggings (in keeping with the theme) and the booties are getting to be my favorite- comfort and style wise. It’s great to be able to dress for any occasion with a quick trip through the closet. I’m still working on pairing down the volume (do I really need 18 white shirts?)  and sticking with only things I love, which is a fitting thought for “I love you” day.

Baby Hey J is getting all his favorite Apple Park Kids toys (confession he’s already been loving his bat– a lot- favorite toy ever) and the other kiddos have some bags tucked in the back that are now filled with goodies. Time for cheese fondue and our little family Valentine’s Day party. There have been moments, I wasn’t sure we’d make it through the day but I hear the kids joyously screaming from their playroom in the basement so we must be doing something right.

I’ve linked all the elements of my outfit in other blogs so to keep this short and sweet, I’m leaving those out- ask me if you have any questions about anything and a more in depth look at Apple Park Kids is coming soon!

  1. Such a lovely idea to make it as much about the kids as romance in general! Fab idea xxx stopping over from the #humpdayhype

    1. Thanks!! It was a fun day- well once the kids got over their hyper excitement for the day 🙂

  2. So jealous of your gorgeous outfits – wish I could look as amazing in leggings as you ^_^ Love the trip to Target for Valentine’s Day (totally sounds like what hubby and I would do!), and especially the threats to cancel it! haha. Sounds like you all had a lovely day! x

    1. Thank you! You don’t know how many dates we’ve taken to Costco because really- how romantic is it to go grocery shopping sans kids??? Oh the sanity that is saved by not having to worry if you lost a kid or two back in the produce fridge.
