Dress: Amazon; Cardigan: my closet; Faux Fur Scarf: Loft; Tights: c/o Hipstik Tights; Booties: c/o ABEO from The Walking Company
The most annoying thing about Holiday specific clothing is storing them. I don’t even mind the cost or the wearability as much as finding a place for it the rest of the year. That’s why I’m going neutral this year.
I already listed my main tips for staying neutral for Christmas here. But a quick recap is: texturize, add a splash of color, and choose fabulous shoes. The last one is key for keeping your looks fun and fresh. When you stay with neutrals for your closet, you can combine all your pieces to make so many gorgeous styles. I love these short booties because I can wear them with jeans, leggings, dresses, and skirts (though I rarely wear the latter). Like all ABEO shoes they feature an orthotic footbed which makes them the perfect shoes for a busy mom. I don’t have time for shoes that hurt (for real though- who does?).
Take a peek in your closet and see what pieces you have that you can wear over and over to make all the pretty holiday outfits. Don’t forget to pick up a fabulous scarf (I’ve been wearing the same ones for three holiday seasons now) and break out the red for your lips and nails. Voila, you’re ready for Christmas without taking up valuable closet real estate.
