Day TWO: Add a Scarf
Day two in my leggings are pants series, still going strong. I wanted to be comfy casual for a play date and some errands. A really easy way to dress up a basic outfit is to add a fun scarf. I’m still building my scarf collection at this point (this is my only floral/light scarf) but they’ve become my favorite accessory.
Again, I want to encourage you to dig into your own closet and see what you already have before shopping for the season. For me, I’ve had to buy a lot of new clothes because of my gluten free diet (lifestyle change really) weight loss. However, these are some basics that, in my opinion, every wardrobe should have: black leggings, essential tanks for layering, and solid sweaters or long sleeved t-shirts. Then, you can dress it up and change your look with a couple cute accessories like the scarf I’m wearing. It adds a splash of color and a pattern and had me yearning for sunshine and breezy spring days.
It was cold and windy that day so I added some warm fuzzy socks and my Sperry moc boots. I finished it off with my favorite comfy coat from the Loft. It doesn’t seem to be available anymore, which is sad because it is the best coat ever for someone who hates outerwear (raising hand over here). I’ll keep looking to see if I find something comparable- I haven’t yet found another without a zipper but I’m keeping my eye out.
Let’s talk leggings again. These are the same leggings from day one, they come in a two pack so I have one to wash and one to wear. They are so soft. They also pick up *all the lint* and *all the animal hair.* I find that’s the case with most black leggings though so it didn’t bother me too much. I keep about a dozen lint rollers around the house but wouldn’t you know I can never find one when I need it? I’m not sure if that’s life in general or life with kids (and maybe a husband;) who never return things to their home. Ah well, the leggings are so soft that I’ll forgive the lint.
Coming tomorrow, day three in my legging saga: how to wear leggings for a day at home. I.E. I barely left the house so I sported them with slippers all day. Slippers are flats though so it works.
