What’s summer all about? Sun, work, and play. Am I right? That’s why I’m all about the suits right now, there’s one for everything. We started last week with the obvious summer suit: swim. (Missed it? Head over to see my picks for mom friendly bathing suits.) this week, oh what could it be but the blazer. This mom may not go to the office but I’ve found so many occasions that a blazer can be fun and maybe even a little tongue in cheek. Kicking this week off with a little of the latter when I threw this amazing Thacker NYC basic black jacket over my favorite mom swim suit. It hit all the notes with the vintage summer play meets work vibe.

By the way, I have never owned a blazer before. How can that even be? I have only ever worked in business casual atmospheres and never needed one. Do I need one now? Maybe not, but I mean, I needed this one. While we’re on the subject of throw backs, look at those shoulder pads a la the 90s. Divine. I also love the boyfriend shape and the long length. It’s perfect with everything and so naturally I’m wearing it with everything. I mean why not?
