It’s so easy to get into a routine. You wake up and have coffee, take a shower, play with the kids. You settle for bed at the same time every night. You go to the same places with the same people. I’ll be the first to tell you that I love to be in my comfort zone. In fact, I’m not a fan of stepping outside of it, ever. Then, Gozon asked if we could shoot video.
I mean sure we can right? Piece of cake. Or not. Pictures are so easy. Stray hair, edit it out. Don’t like the angle? There are fifty other options. Those laugh lines (yeah I’ve got a few), poof they’re gone. Video? Not so much. Every expression, move, glance: captured. I still feel a little awkward trying to figure out how to look (and where) when the film is rolling. But, every now and again it’s good to get out of your zone and try out a new one. Every step you take out, makes you a little more confident.

What else makes you comfy is these pieces from Gozon. That skirt? Yoga pants in skirt form. And, the gauzy shirt is perfection. If I had to define my blogging fashion comfort zone, it would be Gozon. They were my very first fashion collaboration and continue to send pieces that are staples in my wardrobe (there’s this pink cardi that is irreplaceable- I know- I’ve tried). The florals, the flowy dresses, and fab stripes- oh my! So, it’s fitting (no pun intended) that they took me a little out of my bubble with this challenge and surprisingly, I had a lot of fun doing it.
What do you think? Fashion experiment win? I know we need a bit more practice, but we definitely had fun. What makes you uncomfortable? I challenge you to dip your toes outside of your zone, you never know how comfortable it could be.

I adore your videos Jamie! Total fashion win! I can completely understand how weird it is to step out of your comfort zone. I still remember making my first Instagram post way back when and feeling so weird! But now it’s completely normal – and I imagine videos will eventually feel like way for you too. These are awesome, you look incredible and I definitely hope that you make more. I think it’s such a wonderful idea.

It can be hard at times to step out of your comfort zone. But it can be well worth it in the end. Love your jeans that you are wearing. I love dark colored jeans.
