Mommy & Me: Baby Boy Style; and a Giveaway!!!

I have to admit, having two little girls first, I got used to buying all things pink, frilly, and fluffy. And, I loved it. Who knew a baby could be your bittiest fashion accessory? When number three came along and he was, well, a he, it was a little bit of a shock. Don’t get me wrong, I was thrilled to have a healthy little boy. But, fashion? Well, have you looked in the boy section? It’s not where it’s at. Half the store is girls’ clothes, then, the other 2/3 of the store is…well…girls’ clothes with three racks devoted to blue.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, don’t get me started on shoes. After trying brand after brand of crib shoes, I gave up. They wouldn’t stay on and really when they were that boring, how could I blame my little bundle of energy for not wanting them on his feet anyway. My wild thing is just getting over his shoe aversion at two and I attribute that to never having shoes on as a baby.

Along came baby number four and he’s a he! Yay- two girls, two boys…but wait not the shoe thing again.

Thank goodness at least the boys’ clothes section has greatly improved. But shoes? I was still running into the same issue. I had looked at moccasins before and really wanted some this go around, but I was hesitant to spend so much on baby shoes. I feared the knock offs were as cheaply made as they were in price though. Fed up with shoes that didn’t fit and didn’t stay on, I ordered this pair from Freshly Picked. It was love at first kick when they didn’t come flying off baby HeyJ’s sweet little feet. 

And, to boot (no pun intended), he matches me! Hey J may not grow up to enjoy my love of shopping, fashion, or interior design (who knows, he may), but right now, right here, he and I sport our signature shoes in style.
