Spoiler alert it’s a romper and surprise surprise because we talked about it earlier this week. Here’s an interesting idea though, you can wear one piece of clothing and accessorize to get a completely different vibe. I know there are people out there who don’t want to be seen in the same outfit twice. Me? I just don’t want you to notice it’s the same outfit!

No matter how you style it, this romper is to die for. The colors, the shape, the flow. The comfort is just the icing on the cake with this piece. Dress it up or down, you can’t go wrong. Of course, that’s pretty much how I feel about everything from Mint Julep (I think I have about 10’dresses on my wish list and lucky me I have a birthday coming soon) but I digress.

Kimono Chic: This romper gives me a little Asian feel with the floral design and the flowy sleeves. I decided it needed the proper red lip and sweet heels to finish it off. Overall, I think this was the *it* look for this romper but I wanted to go casual too so read on.

Girlfriend Casual: First impressions: I wasn’t sure I loved the way the converse went with the romper at first. I loved the idea of dressing it down but the piece is kind of reminiscent of a kimono (a la Mulan, the Chinese princess) more so than American fashion (can you get more American than Chuck Taylors?). But, when paired with my boyfriend button up, it transforms into an easy to wear, quick and trendy outfit.

I’m still not sure I’m 100% on board with the romper trend but this one is definitely swaying my opinions with the bright colors and fun cut. How about you?

Romper: c/o Mint Julep

*Note, in the second set of pictures, the white romper reflected the yellow lighting we have going on in our studio (i.e.: J’s office). The romper is definitely more of a creamy off white than it is this yellow but either way it’s gorgeous.

  1. Cute! I’m so scared of rompers, though. I’m tall, long-waisted, and legs for days. I just think it wouldn’t fit right. What do you think?

    1. I think a loosely fitted one would work especially with spaghetti straps. When rompers first came out, I couldn’t find one that fit me right but anything with a drawstring/stretchy waist seems to work. I’m actually trying to find my perfect jersey romper for those “I don’t feel like getting dressed” days!

  2. This is so cute! I have never been sold on the romper trend, but this one is adorable! Thanks for sharing. ?

    1. I know what you mean! There’s something about the word romper that just doesn’t seem to go with “adult” but I jumped on board and glad I did since they’re surprisingly comfortable!

  3. You look great in this! I’m an 80’s kid and my fashion philosophy is that if you wore it the first time around, you can’t wear it the 2nd! lol But you pull it off beautifully! Rock on, sister! 🙂

    1. Haha I think I’m good because I didn’t wear it the first time around ? okay maybe I had one…but let’s not talk about that- I wasn’t alive in the 80s ?
