Color Blocking for Fashion

If you had to pick one color to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be? For me? Grey. (I don’t think that’s surprising anyone.) Definitely grey. Especially if I could accent it with shoes and bags (my secondary color would definitely be cognac- I love how the rich brown accents cool neutrals). So here’s a confession. I love color. Everywhere but in my closet (a pop here or there is okay but everyday? I’m all about the neutrals).

That’s how I came to pick this wall with this dress. The dress has a certain geometric structure with the color blocked sleeves against the solid body. This wall happens to be one of my favorites in town even though it always seems to be in direct sunlight no matter when we try to shoot it. The shapes and bright colors evoke happiness and beauty while providing contrast to my grey obsession.
