It’s Mother’s Day and as you know I don’t usually do pictureless posts. But, today I will. Because, today that white space is for all the mamas, not just the ones we celebrate.

This post is for all the mamas who yearn for babies who haven’t yet come. It’s for all the mamas who have lost a sweet baby before he even had a name. For all the mamas who got to hold their baby for just a few short minutes. For all the mamas who never saw their angel breathe. For all the mamas who’ve watched their child suffer. For all the mamas who had to bury a little body far too soon.

This post is for all the mamas who are missing their moms today. For all the mamas who grew without a mom. For all the mamas who lost their mom before they were well grown. For all the mamas who are spending their first Mother’s Day without a mom to call. For all the mamas who fear they will be losing their mom soon. For all the mamas who lost their own mama yesterday or years ago.

This post is for all the children who don’t have a mom to visit today. For all the little ones who lost their mamas far too soon. For all the sons who grew up without their mama’s apron strings. For all the children whose mama abandoned them. For all the children whose mama didn’t love them enough to bring them into this world. For all the men and women who are missing their mama today.

This post is for the mama who struggles to get through the day. For the single mama. For the mama battling anxiety or depression. For the mama without any family or friends near by. For the lonely mama. For the mama who loves her children but sometimes yearns to run away to a life without responsibilities. For the mama who is overwhelmed and tired.

This post is for all the mamas who dread this day. For all the mamas for whom this day is not about flowers and Hallmark cards. For the mamas who struggle. For the mamas who suffer. For the mama no one remembers. This post is for you.

You are not forgotten. You are loved. You are special. Today, I am praying for you. For peace. For love. For joy. That your day is brightened by a ray of sunshine. That you get through it with someone to comfort you, something to bring a smile to your face, and the knowledge that someone somewhere is thinking of you, even if it’s just me.
