The air is finally turning brisk and I’m excited to put out the pumpkins, spiders, and bats. My house is a regular witches hut right now. But, one of my absolute favorite things about seasons change is pulling out the new wardrobe. And, what’s the best thing about any wardrobe but shoes? It’s that time again and here are my top picks for must have fall shoes.

Duck boots: c/o Jambu use code MOMMYINFLATSF19 for 20% off

1. Weatherproof Boots. My absolute favorite fall activity is tromping through pumpkin patches and apple orchards. In Virginia, you never know what you’re going to get when you step outside so choosing a waterproof design can never steer you wrong. But, forgetting to dress for the weather, can leave you, well, wet. My top pick for this category is duck boots, like these from Jambu. But, they also have a wide variety of waterproof styles from knee high boots to ankle length shoes. Favorite Styles: Nala (shown), Wisconsin, Colorado Encore, Spruce. (All available at www.jambu.com)

  • 2. Booties. Dress them up or dress them down, Booties make the top of my must have shoes for fall because they make any outfit a little more seasonal. They’re a perfect accent to sweater dresses and jeans alike and keep you on your toes for all your fall romps. My biggest tip is to keep your booties a modest height and invest in a pair with a good sole like these from Jambu. Favorite Styles: Samantha (shown), Emery, Sylvie, and Ember (all available at www.jambu.com)
  • Clogs: c/o Jambu use code MOMMYINFLATSF19 for 20% off

  • 3. Clogs. They’re the flip flop of autumn. I used to think you couldn’t get a slip on that didn’t add a little frump, enter these mules by Jambu. I love the color and accents and feel just as stylish and a little more casual comfy than in my booties. Favorite Styles: Penny (shown) and Perla (available at www.jambu.com)
  • Sneakers: c/o Jambu use code MOMMYINFLATSF19 for 20% off

  • 4. Active Shoes. Hiking is one of the best activities for fall so having a pair of shoes that will hold up to hill and rock is a good idea. Not all sneakers are created equal. Look for ones with a nice tread and a snug fit. I love that these sneakers from Jambu have a Velcro closure and fit your ankle closely to keep your whole body safe on uneven surfaces. Favorite Styles: Spirit Encore (shown), Tahoe encore, Tahoe Ultra, Wool Lace up (all available at www.jambu.com)
  • I may be in favor of a capsule wardrobe, but don’t skimp when it comes to shoes. You need to make sure your feet are protected in a variety of situations. Wearing out your activewear on the street leaves your joints (you’re never too young to start caring about them!) vulnerable in strenuous activities. Ruining your favorite leather Booties on a muddy day just stinks. And, having a pair of slip ons to throw on when you’re running out the door saves you a few minutes to beat the other moms to the pick up line. Happy fall, happy feet!
