Really this post should probably be titled “Dress it down or dress it down some more.” But, here’s one dress two ways. First, I couldn’t pass this dress up. It’s totally teeny bopper to my 30 something years but I can still pull it off for a year or two right? And, heck lately I’ve been getting a lot of “you look too young to have four kids” (and yes I did give her a good tip). I might as well take advantage and dress young right?

Option one is what I wore to a small Christmas gathering with friends. I added tights and then dressed it down with a pair of converse. (Note the picture in the middle is actually from the second wear but it goes with the first set so pretend I’m wearing black tights instead of gray ones.)

As if that didn’t feel 80s enough, option two features legwarmers and my signature flats. Oh, and a cozy sweater.

I wish I had more fashion wisdom to impart but today I just don’t. It’s been a long, hard week. Filled with lots of tears, a couple laughs with good friends, frustrations over politics (more on that later and why I won’t be telling you where to buy that sweater), and just post holiday exhaustion still catching up with me.

But, that’s life. It’s exhausting. It’s exhilarating. It’s exciting. Sometimes, I’ll have lots of thoughts just waiting to come out my fingertips onto the blog. And, some days, my head is full of children laughing and crying and sometimes (okay, a lot of the time) screaming. Today is one of those days. So, I’ll leave you with this, just because an item of clothing seems dressy or casual, it doesn’t mean it has to function that way. You can always dress down a fun blouse with a pair of jeans or dress up a t shirt with a sparkly necklace. Think outside the closet, and come up with new ways to wear things. Be inspired. Be creative.

That’s about all I’ve got for now!

    1. Ahhh leg warmers I think I’ll wear them with everything- I’m in love. Why did I not try this sooner???

    1. You caught that, eh? 🙂 That was taken before the ban. Though, I do have a couple staples that I wear that you might notice- I’m trying to find replacements. It’s hard for sweaters because of the wool allergy but I’m working on it!
